Chabad of Japan: The Japanese Ambassador to Israel visits the Matzah Bakery in Kfar Chabad

Updated: Jul 27, 2022

The Rebbe's emissary and director of Chabad houses in Japan, Rabbi Binyamin Edery, invited the Ambassador of Japan to Israel - Mr. Koichi Mizushima and his wife, and the cultural attaché, Mr. Yoshi Higuchi. They visited the matzah bakery in Kfar Chabad (i.e., Chabad Village) in honor of the 120th birthday of our Rebbe, Rebbe Menachem Mender Schneerson.

Matzah is unleavened bread, which Jewish people are commanded to eat during the season of Passover. It is made with a special care in the fields, in warehouses, and in specially organized bakeries to prevent fermentation from starting with natural yeast. Passover this year is from April 15th to April 23rd.

The visit was accompanied by Mr. Arik Amsalem, an activist and supporter of Chabad Japan. After visiting the bakery, they sat down at the house of Rabbi Nissim Edrei, the father of Rabbi Binyomin Edery, to hear about the development of Chabad in Japan. They discussed the Rebbe's life work and his dedicated care for everyone.
